March 16 – Update: Ames Lifts Tighter Access Restrictions and Remains in Stage 3

Effective now, Ames will lift restrictive Stage 3 center status implemented on Dec. 7, 2020, and will remain in Stage 3 of NASA’s Framework for the Return to On-Site Work.

Mandatory telework is in effect agency-wide, and on-site work is limited to mission-essential work to protect life and property and approved mission-critical work. Employees permitted to return to work on-site will be notified by their supervisors.

Our COVID-19 response as an agency continues to be guided by a combination of the direction we receive at a federal level along with state and local health orders for specific and significant guidance at a local level.

This decision to lift Stage 3 restrictions comes after careful consideration and is based on the public health order issuing guidance from the state to move Santa Clara County into the red tier of the Blueprint for a Safer Economy on March 3.

It is important that we continue to remain vigilant, wear a mask, maintain physical distance, wash hands regularly, and continue to exercise all COVID-19 safety measures as recommended by the CDC.
